LemnaTec is a company for digital seed testing and plant phenotyping technologies, located in Aachen, Germany. Our advanced imaging technologies and image processing algorithms deliver information on seed and seedling quality as well as on plant performance in response to climate- and environment-related stress factors. With cutting-edge machine learning we extract sample-specific quality traits that are decisive in breeding, seed testing or precision agriculture. As member of the Nynomic group of companies, we apply photonic measurement technologies for smart analyses in life sciences and green tech. With our strong network of partners in industry and research, we tackle challenges in non-invasive measurements of seeds, plants and related biological samples.
Application examples comprise seed germination analyses, where images of germinating seeds are recorded and classified via the analytical software to asses germination rates and timing together with seedling quality. Doing so, the Germination Scanalyzer saves time and labour in seed testing by digitising the inspection process.
Plant performance is assessed by imaging and analysing shoot- and root- growth dynamics that give insight in plant performance related to the genomic background or to stress and diseases. Our phenotyping systems provide various platforms for measurements.
A unique setup – the Growscreen Rhizo technology – allows analysing soil-grown roots in a non-invasive manner.
Not only visible light images but also fluorescence- and (near-)infrared images can be the input for the analytical software, and such measurements provide information on the physiological status of the plants.
Application-specific image recording is combined with dedicated mechanical hardware and automation to meet demands in laboratories, greenhouses, growth rooms, or outdoor.
