About Corvus Drones
Corvus Drones is a Dutch based company who specializes in crop monitoring in greenhouses with a fully automatic flying drones. By using AI-powered software the drone will recognize a wide variety of valuable data in the context of crop and greenhouse monitoring.
How it works
Growers have to select an area in our digital greenhouse map and the drone will scan it autonomously. After landing the drone will immediately upload all the data it has collected to the cloud. Our partners use AI-powered software to extract a wide variety of valuable data. We will then generate a report which will be available for the grower in our Corvus App (a webapplication used as drone operating system and data dashboard). This whole process will happen in 2 hours.
Corvus’ Germination app
It can be challenging to know exactly how many seeds are needed and whether they will all germinate as planned. Perhaps you recognize this: the worry about wasting precious seeds by sowing too much, just to make sure you have enough plants. This can lead to unnecessary costs and space shortages in the nursery.
Six to eight days after sowing, our drone flies over the seed trays. The result: a report with the germination rate and a determination of the number of usable plants per tray or batch. As you would normally do a small manual sample count of a batch, the drone is able to do it faster, cover a bigger area and is more accurate in the same time. This allows you to respond to the quality of the seedlings as early as possible and save greenhouse space!
Other applications
The drone is suitable for different sensors or cameras and is therefore universal for data collection in many crops. Corvus is working with various developers on applications in the field of germination and crop growth. The first available applications are seed germination and leaf area detection. We also do usable countings, based on leaf area index. We now have a dozen of other applications all related to crop monitoring.
Award winning drone
Corvus Drones won the Greentech Amsterdam Innovation Award 2021, IMAV Greenhouse Challenge 2022 and GreenTech Amsterdam Robot Challenge 2023.
